The wonderful experience of our Bocconi Tennis Team in Paris ended. Our boys had the opportunity to play on the iconic fields of one of the most prestigious places on the world tennis scene, the Stade Roland Garros, taking part in the International Tennis Tournament organized by HEC Virtus.
Our team, which already boasts two victories in this competition (2008 and 2019), on the occasion composed of Eleonora Bellavita, Carla Mentrup, Alice Agazzi, Nicolas Carlone, Johannes Klein and Lorenzo Cavaliere, led on the field by coach Marta Silvino and coordinated by Amanda Gesualdi, had to compete against teams from some of the most prestigious universities in Europe: Cambridge, Oxford, HEC Paris, Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, ESADE Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin and St.Gallen.
In the qualifying round the team showed excellent tennis, winning matches against St.Gallen and Ecole Polytechnique and losing after a fought match only against the british from Cambridge, then winners of the tournament. Unfortunately, our journey ended in the quarter-finals, with the defeat against the irish of Trinity College which did not allow us to defend the second place obtained in 2021.
Beyond the result on the field, for our student-athletes it was a wonderful experience and they were able to live an intense and exciting weekend, meet colleagues from all over Europe and fully enjoy a fantastic location.
We can therefore do nothing that thank HEC Virtus for letting us participate in the event and for the fantastic organization of the event.
